Kudos to The Black Vault for its consistent work with collecting and providing a database of declassified documents on its site, and recently they posted an extensive look at the FBI’s paranormal files.  The Freedom Of Information Act allows full or partial disclosure ( notice the “or partial part”)  of classified government documents, but the documents can still be censored or only partially disclosed.

The Black Vault’s collection of the FBI paranormal files is worth a look, as there are many fascinating figures and  cases to choose from, so we’ve compiled some key takeaways:

-The FBI has over 350 pages on author William Cooper, which plays to the late conspiracy theorists’ distrust and paranoia of government.  Cooper, author of “Behold A Pale Horse” wrote about the Illuminati, UFOs, the John F. Kennedy assassination, secret government programs and population control. He was killed in a shootout with police outside of his home in 2001.

-Orfeo Matthew Angelucci claimed to be in contact with aliens and wrote several books and pamphlets on his experiences aboard extraterrestrial ships. His records were mysteriously destroyed in 2009.

-There are 52 pages on psychic Sylvia Browne that include FBI investigating her on embezzlement and tax fraud.

-Former Locheed Martin scientist Boyd Bushman and his alleged hoaxed alien video is featured.

-The FBI showed interest in studying Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP) as there are 40 pages with no clear scientific support.

-The files also include that the FBI had tabs on all the alleged members of the Majestic-12, cattle mutilation reports, Roswell, Project Blue Book, the Fortean Society, and UFO reseearchers J. Allen Hynek, Phil Klass and others.
