Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield made some headlines on Wednesday when he took to Twitter to report a UFO sighting he and his wife witnessed over Lake Travis in the Austin area. Mayfield described “a very bright ball of light going straight down from the sky.” Now, it appears this orb-like sighting may be similar to what the residents of Spicewood, Texas have been seeing for a while.
The Spicewood UAP flap (reported exclusively here ) is taking place right around Lake Travis as well, and on March 2 a man named Curtis recorded a video of a ball of light in the sky around the Barton Springs area of Austin. You can see in the video the similarities in what Mayfield described in his sighting the next day.
The orbs have been reported in the area by Spicewood resident Sheena Lee for over 3 years. She has seen the star-like orbs, and she has witnessed some that are red, blue and white that “usually blinking in a triangle formation.” In previous stories for this site, Lee also described some odd dreams associated with her sightings, and other paranormal occurrences like light malfunctions.
"It moved so fast I kept watching it thinking it was a shooting star or a satellite, but then it made weird sharp movements, and then two more appeared passed right by each other then kinda of lingered; like stopped moving completely and then they all disappeared," Lee said in the first reported sighting in 2018.
Lee also described the movements as “scouting the area.” The closest military base is 2 hours away in Killeen.
