Alkaline Trio still knows how to keep things lively, which has been part of the band’s DNA from day 1 by being able to apply darker tones and themes to upbeat pop-punk and emo. While touring off the success and critical acclaim of their latest release, the trio’s first headlining tour in five years saw a renewed energy from the band’s latest incarnation of Matt Skiba, Dan Andriano, and Atom Willard.
Alkaline Trio is touring in support of its tenth proper studio album “Blood, Hair and Eyeballs,”, which is an album laced with gloom and doom imagery and a reflection of where society is at in 2024. The band was able to mix older, rarer played songs for some good times, while mixing in newer tracks reflective of the bad times and themes featured in “Blood, Hair and Eyeballs.” “Hot For Preacher” started the set, and other impressive new tracks like “Bad Time,”and “Break.”

Digging deep, Alkaline Trio resurrected rarely played songs “Take Lots With Alcohol,” and “Burned is this House.” “Demon and Division,” which is an underrated gem from “Is This Thing Cursed?,” was also a welcome addition to the live show.
Openers Drug Church sounded like Face To Face on steroids, and Worriers, one of the underground’s best bands, are deservingly on a large tour to expose a new audience to its sound.
