REVIEW: 'The Phenomenon' an important, credible UFO documentary

What Leslie Kean’s “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record “ was to UFO books, and To The Stars/History’s “ Unidentified” is currently doing for TV, James Fox documentary “The Phenomenon” will have the same credible, cultural effect on the medium of film.

“The Phenomenon” carries on the trend of mainstream media reporting on credible UFO witnesses, and chronicles it throughout history. The film is bolstered by appearances from Senator Harry Reid, John Podesta (White House Chief of Staff for Bill Clinton and advisor to Barack Obama,) Governor Bill Richardson, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence at the U.S. Department of Defense Christopher Mellon, NASA astronauts,  Dr. Jacques Vallee and others. It will also show the casual viewer on the UAP topic of the bureaucratic red tape, and disconnect between various branches of the military, and within federal governments. Fox covers a lot of bases, and presents each case through an appropriate historical lens.

Stylistically, the film is more educational than flashy, which at times feels like an instructional video shown in high school, and this isn’t a bad thing. “The Phenomenon” is meant to be informative, and opts to go substance over style.

While the film would have seen greater impact with a theatrical release like intended, “The Phenomenon” deserves as many eyes on it as possible.
